Animation Vs Human

Alladin Movie Review: Animation Vs. Human

Today I watched the movie, Aladdin, in a theatre. Many people say that this human version remake of Aladdin was better than the original animated version. However, I personally did not think so. First of all, most of the scenes, storyline, and music in the new version was exactly the same as the original. This took out any plot twists or excitement I had anticipated. In addition to that, the graphic effects were so detailed that even the animated objects in the scene where Genie performed his song, “Friend Like Me”, were exactly the same. However, for me that made me predict what would happen next since I had seen the animated version of Aladdin. Despite those negative elements, there were some parts of the movie I really enjoyed. For example, the director focused the movie more on messages such as female empowerment, by having an ending where Jasmine becomes the Sultan in the new version, rather than just marring Aladdin. Additionally, the graphic design was beautifully done. However, by listing out the pros and cons, the positive elements in the animated movie outweigh the great aspects of the human version of Aladdin. Overall, for all those reasons, I believe the animated version of Aladdin was a great original with fresh content and creative and fantastic animation skills, that mad the unrealistic element more believable and magical.
